What clubs/organizations are you involved in?
I am a part of Ithaca College’s television station. On ICTV, I am a studio news host for an entertainment show called The Director’s Chair. I am also a field reporter for Newswatch. Since I’m a television-radio major, it’s great to get this hands-on experience because this is what I want to do for a career. I am also a part of ICDC (Ithaca College Dance Classes).
Are you involved in the Honors, Leadership Scholar, MLK Scholar, or Park Scholar Program?
I am in the Leadership Scholar Program, and through this I have been able to volunteer at multiple places in the community. I also get to take Student Leadership Institutes, where I am able to learn more about specific topics that will help me now as a person and also with my future career, such as finding mentors and making a good résumé.
Are you involved in IC athletics?
I am on the executive board for Ithaca College’s open dance classes or ICDC. We have weekly dance classes where anyone of any skill level can join! As someone who danced for 12 years, I couldn’t give it up, but I didn’t have the time to dedicate to a team, so this was the perfect opportunity for me.
What’s your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is by the baseball field. It’s a walk, but once you get there you can see the lake and downtown. I love having this view on my campus and being surrounded by nature. Being outside makes me feel peaceful, and seeing downtown just reminds me of what a great community I am in. Every time I see the lake, it reminds me of how lucky I am to be at college.
Why did you choose Ithaca College?
Ithaca College was my dream school. I came to visit and fell in love with it. I loved the Park School, but I also loved the community. It was the first college I could see myself at and loving it.
What is the best class that you’ve taken so far and why?
Right now, I am in Acting 1, and it is so amazing. I love theater, and I’m glad that I am able to take classes outside of my major that keep me passionate about other things.
What is your favorite event that you’ve attended on campus and why?
During my orientation, I was able to attend so many fun little events. There is ALWAYS something going on at Ithaca! My favorite had to be under the stars where telescopes were set up at night on the quad, and I got to see planets through them. I felt so small in the universe, and it truly changed my perspective in the best way possible.
