What clubs/organizations you are involved in on campus?

I do a lot of work in the IC Theatre Arts Department as a Stage Manager. I’ve been a Stage Manager on 6 productions. The Stage Management program has allowed me to call cues for shows, practice professional methods, and plan out my career trajectory. It has also led me to some of my greatest friends!

Have you been engaged in research, internship opportunities, student teaching, or conferences?

I’ve had the privilege to intern as the Executive Assistant for Performing Arts for a Social Change. The program founder, Cynthia Henderson, is a Full Professor at IC. I took her “Theatre for a Social Change” class and was instantly connected. She invited me to be an Assistant Stage Manager on a production that she was directing at the middle school. However, the students were writing the show! After seeing her vision for creating change via the arts, I was honored to join her on her team.

What's your favorite spot on campus and why?

The Dillingham Center Red Carpet! It’s not only a crossroad for all majors in the department, but it also represents our cohesive community. Some of my greatest memories at IC are made there. Bonus points for the theatre production posters hanging on the walls (all of which IC alum have participated in).

Is there anything else you would want to share with a prospective student?

One of the reasons I picked IC was because of my President’s Host tour guide. When I came to visit for Accepted Students Day, they remembered me from my tour. This really stuck with me. It showed how exceptional the IC community is. I hope to one day share that with you!
