Do I keep the same faculty advisor until graduation?
It is certainly ideal to work with the same faculty advisor from your first year until your last. This helps you establish a mentoring relationship that can be useful as you plan for internships, jobs or graduate school. Whether this actually occurs depends on a number of factors.
For example, if you change majors or schools, you will be assigned to a new faculty advisor in that new major/school so that you can get the best information possible in that subject area. If your old faculty advisor has been helpful and you want to continue to talk with him or her, there are no restrictions on doing so.
