Aquatics Pavilion (Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium and Outdoor Pool)

Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium - located in the Athletics & Events Center (opened September 2011)

  • Ithaca College’s Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium consists of a 9 lanes 50 meter by 21 lanes 25 yard pool. The pool has a variety of competition courses that can be configured with 2 separate Bulkheads, 6' wide and 4' wide. The facility is 8+ feet deep at both the starting and turning ends of the competition courses, with 5 lanes 14 feet deep at the diving end of the pool. The facility also has a 32' by 75' movable floor to accommodate swim lessons, academic classes, Aqua Zumba, PT or rehab training and a variety of other activities. The facility provides spectator gallery seating for approximately 1,000.
  • Diving consists of two 1 meter boards and two 3 meter boards on separate platforms, with warm water showers and a 19 person Hot Tub/Spa for the athletes.
  • Timing Systems are fully-automatic Colorado Time System with touch pad’s, relay judging platforms, a full color video board for swimming/diving/water polo and a separate electronic LED display board for diving.

Outdoor Pool - located between the Fitness Center and Athletics & Events Center

  • Ithaca Colleges Outdoor Pool is a 6 lane 25 yard pool with a diving well. The pool is opened during the summer months when school is out of session. Summer membership and swim lesson information can be found under the Outdoor Pool tab on the left hand side.

Bird Natatorium

A newly created endowment to Ithaca College’s natatorium in the Athletics and Events Center will sustain the pool’s operational costs for generations of IC and Ithaca community members to enjoy. The Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium, named in honor of Kelsey Partridge Bird, daughter of alumni donors Lee ‘86 and Linda ‘86 Bird, was dedicated on Saturday, December 1, 2018 during the IC Swimming and Diving Bomber Invitational.
