Students Bring Home Awards from American Marketing Association ConferenceStudents Bring Home Awards from American Marketing Association Conference
Students from the Ithaca College chapter of the American Marketing Association (ICAMA) receive numerous honors.

At the 35th Annual American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, ICAMA received awards for Outstanding Membership Activities, Outstanding Communications and Outstanding Professional Development.

Recognition in three categories signifies superior chapter performance, indicative of an organization ranking among the top 30 chapters amongst the 160 chapters submitting reports and over 300 active collegiate chapters.

ICAMA also received an Honorable Mention Award for Outstanding Marketing Week Activities.  ICAMA won a couple of awards in the AMA Saves Lives competition promoting organ donation.  In social media categories, the chapter won 2nd Place for number of videos and 3rd Place for number of video views in the fall semester.

In addition, co-Presidents Shayna Dunitz ‘13 and Taylor O'Hare '13 were chosen to present at a session on "Making Marketing Week a Success", attended by over 50 delegates.

“Attending the AMA ICC was such a great experience for me and the rest of the executive board. We got to network with students from other chapters that we could work with in the future as well as learning from the most successful chapters on how we can improve for next year and become even better! In addition, the keynotes and Experience Speaks sessions were truly engaging and informational. Being named one of the top 30 chapters in the nation as well as being recognized for our Marketing Week and AMA SavesLives efforts was the icing on the cake!" said Shayna Dunitz ’13.

ICAMA Membership VP Sarah Wooster said, “It was a great educational experience, and I am so honored that I got to attend the conference. We got to hear from and meet influential marketers, and we also made connections with other chapters that we hope will last a long time and help us to better ourselves and our school.”

The American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference brings together collegiate chapters from all over the country to participate in competitions, attend engaging sessions from top marketing professionals, and network with other AMA chapters and professionals. Chapters are also recognized for the impressive work they do all year at an awards ceremony.

Shayna Dunitz added that “The conference is so important for ICAMA because it gives us a chance to learn about what other chapters do to be successful and gives us ideas for how we can continue to improve our programs for our members. It's also a good chance to learn about the marketing profession from the keynote speakers and the other presenters.”

IC AMA has been attending the conference for over 20 years.
