The Ithaca College chapter of the American Marketing Association (ICAMA) recently traveled to New Orleans to attend American Marketing Association’s 39th Annual International Collegiate Conference. Faculty advisor Scott Erickson accompanied seven ICAMA members.
The mission of the Ithaca College chapter of the American Marketing Association (ICAMA) is to be one of the leading professional student organizations on campus. We have accomplished this by acting as a direct pipeline for students entering the marketing and business sectors. Through real-world business experience, community engagement and organizational development, ICAMA provides its members with the tools to succeed in today’s competitive marketing and media landscape. This year, through an innovative pilot program, we have transformed ICAMA into a student-staffed media and marketing agency to act as a connector between the student academic experience and the real-world business environment.
Over 1,700 marketing students and staff spent the weekend in the “Big Easy” learning from industry professionals, participating in challenging competitions and networking with fellow members.
This conference allows top AMA chapters to be recognized for their accomplishments over the past academic year. We were honored to receive so many awards for our agency transition and graphic design work. This would not have been possible without the continuous support from our general body members, executive board, faculty advisors and academic leadership.
ICAMA was awarded the following:
- Exemplary Collegiate Chapter Performance Award for Professional Development & Communications
- “Commendable” Efforts in AMA Annual Case Competition sponsored by eBay
- Exemplary Website Design in Annual Website Design Competition (www.amaithacacollege.com)
- Winner of AMA International Collegiate Conference T-Shirt Competition
Our team was proud to represent Ithaca College and the School of Business. We look forward to implementing new tactics to improve our chapter and are excited to return to New Orleans next year!
