Syllabus Information

Student Accessibility: In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified students with documented disabilities. Students seeking accommodations must register with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and provide appropriate documentation to SAS before any accommodations can be provided. Please note that accommodations are not retroactive so timely contact with Student Accessibility Services is encouraged.

The Academic Advising Center (AAC): As a complement to a student’s faculty advisor(s), the professional academic advisors in the AAC are available to help students discuss the outcomes of academic decisions, explore academic choices, and to examine the consequences of changing a major or adding a minor. Students (first year through senior) from any major can make an appointment by calling 607-274-1001 or emailing advisingcenter@ithaca.edu.

Students can also meet with an advisor during drop-in hours from 9:00 and 4:00 Monday through Friday. The AAC is located at 130A Rothschild Place (next to the Park School of Communication). Additional information on the AAC as well as useful links to advising information is available on our web site at www.ithaca.edu/advising.

Tutoring Services: Tutoring Services provides peer tutors to support students in any course. Tutoring is a sustained activity that takes place during the entire semester, with some opportunities for drop-in assistance in standard courses in the first year residence halls. Students should not wait until they are in academic trouble to seek help. Request tutoring as soon as possible before tutors are filled to capacity. We want to partner tutoring with other aspects of student success! All first year students are required to attend an Advising Center workshop or a session led by Head Tutors in order to be eligible for tutoring. The directions for making a request can be found on our website at Ithaca.edu/tutoring. The Orientation to Tutoring video has lots of important detail to share. For more information, call us at 607-274-3381 or send a message to tutoring@ithaca.edu.
