Evaluate Your Plan

Meet with a CCED staff member to discuss your career plans and evaluate your 4-year career plan.

You still DO NOT need to know what you want to do with the rest of your life when you start college, but now is the time to start thinking about it.   Meet with CCED staff to learn how to get started and develop a personalized 4-year career plan.

Explore Careers of Interest

The best way to find out  about an occupation is through research and by meeting people in the field.  Two excellent research sites to get you started are:

Learn About the Career Selection Process

Attend career related workshops to learn about the process of choosing a major or career path and attend programs featuring guest speakers from career fields that interest you.

Learn with First-Hand Accounts

Alumni and industry professionals can help you learn more through informational interviews and job shadowing. Conduct informational interviews with professionals to learn about a particular career field.  LinkedIn is a great place to find Ithaca alumni in many fields!

Develop Your Skills through Student Organizations

Take an active role in a student organization to develop your communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Refine Your Resume & Practice Your Interviewing Skills
