Spring 2010 Events

Spring 2010 features the launch of the Ithaca Faculty Commons with a workshop and Faculty Institute.

Carlos Cortes leads our March 12 workshop on Building a Multicultural Curriculum and Inclusive Pedagogy for the 21st Century. The event leads to faculty presentations in the Faculty Institute on May 25. The workshop is in the Taughannock Room on Friday March 12, 1:00-4:00; free lunch is at noon in the same room.

Professor Cortes will be with us from California and our follow up groups will use the forthcoming features of myHome Community. We know that you may have classes; this could be a good time to provide an alternative activity or proctored test so that you can be free in the afternoon. The full description can be downloaded on the right. Online registration is through this form. To maximize your outcomes from the workshop and Institute, please submit an abstract with a discussion question or project focus. Can't be there in person? Log in to Adobe Connect through this link.

This event includes the two major features of our new Ithaca Faculty Commons. The emphasis on resource-sharing means that unlike a more typical workshop, this event builds from faculty conversations to presentations in the May Institute on May 25. The emphasis on a blended online and face to face environment means that the workshop leader is in California and faculty can participate both in the room and from other locations.

Propose a presentation at the May Faculty Institute! By registering for the March workshop, you submit a preliminary proposal for a session at the event on Tuesday, May 25.
