Standard Release v1.50 (January 7, 2020)

Our developers got a lot of rest during their holiday vacation and put all that energy into this first release of the new year. Here are the highlights:

Notable Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an error with date parameters affecting News Card Collections.
  • If you changed the parent of a page, it wasn't changing the local menu of that new parent to reflect the change. That will happen automatically now.
  • Squashed additional bugs found in the developer build processes.

Additional Updates:

  • Delete permissions are now available to content publishers who need to remove pages of content they own.

View of user interface menu for selecting events
  • When building a Featured Events Card Collection, the event selector now includes event dates in addition to names, so events with an identical name can now be differentiated and selecting the correct event is no longer a matter of trial and error.

  • Page access rules can now be set to allow specific access to content based on faculty, staff, and student roles.
  • CMS Authors/Publishers now have access to the "Parent" field for any page they own.
  • Numerous configuration fixes to prepare for Drupal 8.7 core update

Standard Release v1.49 (Dec. 10, 2019)

The team is shipping a bigger release than usual this week as we prepare to close out the year.

Notable Bug Fixes:

  • If you created a table in a Text paragraph need to manually set vertical alignment using the cell properties, it won't be ignored anymore.
  • Media Gallery permissions were corrected.
  • Quick Links were not displaying in draft mode; now they do.
  • Image Flow Text Left that includes bulleted text now ensures those bullets stay on the left side as intended.
  • Issues with creating new developer builds were hunted down and removed.

Additional Updates:

  • Accessible text was added to social media icon links for screen readers.
  • Link to Groups from User Audit admin report view.
  • Search indexing on our site host server was updated to Solr so that Drupal content is more quickly and reliably indexed as it is created.

Standard Release v1.48 (November 15, 2019)

Fixed a bug that prevented the Heading field from being updated in a Callout paragraph. Added a view for CMS users to search and filter Site Groups across the platform. Removed Kaltura as an option from the embed code paragraph because you can do that now through the Add Video option like you would expect.

Standard Release v1.47 (October 15, 2019)

This release fixed a minor bug affecting just one web page out of 30,000 on our site—but someone noticed and let us know, and we fixed it.

This release also updates the "Add Video" element to allow for embedding Kaltura videos from alternate host domains, and embedding of YouTube Playlist videos.

Standard Release v1.46 (October 11, 2019)

Minor bug fixes and security updates.

Standard Release - v1.45 (October 8, 2019)

This release provides bug fixes for embedding Cognito forms and WPM migration tools, along with minor improvements for the display of Spotlight Gallery cards. There's also on more important feature update content managers have been asking for and now we've delivered:  you can now build a page with Image Flow Text and choose whether to place your image to the right or left side of your page column when viewed in desktop layouts. ?

Standard Release - v1.44 (October 1, 2019)

Updates for this release focus on improving site performance. Additional enhancements have been added to lay groundwork for planned migration and development of Intercom and faculty/staff profile content.

Notable UPDATES:

  • Content Delivery Network (CDN) activation - ensures that our website loads fast for all users, no matter where they are located. Using a CDN scatters key bits of our website across servers around the world, allowing even the largest images and files to load equally fast no matter how far away you are from our proxy servers.
  • Quicklink module - like the CDN, this allows prefetching of links on a page so clicking on links to other pages opens them even faster than before.
  • Update PHP Version from 7.1 to 7.3 - this will allow us to extend use of the old WPM content management system into 2020 until migration of legacy content is fully completed.
  • Assigning user groups on login - a first step to improving our permissions, users who sign into the Drupal site can now be identified as Faculty, Staff, or Students. This is a key ground work for future migration of Intercom and faculty/staff profile content planned for the months ahead.

Standard Release - v1.43 (September 12, 2019)

Updates for this release include several developer improvements behind the scenes, as well as bug fixes and content manager enhancements.

Notable Bug Fixes:

  • Improved background image scaling on custom landing page hero headers
  • Fixed spacing around featured cards for an improved mobile screen experience

New Features:

  • Improved CMS user tools - we've cleaned up some of the interface to allow content creators to see more of a page in edit mode by collapsing and reducing the size of blog post collection previews. We also have a new view for CMS Managers to quickly find authenticated users in the system and see access and permission levels to help enable faster support.
  • Sassafras Embed - allows embedding of Sassafras computer lab resource availability maps for campus (coming to IC in Fall '19)

Standard Release - v1.42 (August 27, 2019)

Updates for this release include several bug fixes and content enhancements.

New Features:

  • Media Galleries (beta) - Create galleries of images and videos to share as a page within your site. There are still some known issues affecting the uploading and management of gallery items, so use this feature with caution. Read our feature documentation for details.
  • Embedded SoundCloud Player - allows SoundCloud content to be embedded on Pages, News, Blogs, and more using the "Add Embed Code" tool.
Here's an example of how that looks:
