Our Strategic Focus Areas and Teams

The Division of College Communications researches, develops, implements, and assesses communications and marketing strategies in support of core institutional priorities, including the following:

  • Institutional reputation, visibility, and positioning

  • Enrollment

  • Advancement

  • College initiatives

  • Leadership communication

  • Emergency and crisis communication

Our team works closely with partners in each school and major administrative unit to tell the story of the college in ways that connect with people at every stage in their relationship with the college and help them have a rewarding and meaningful experience.

Senior Staff

Strategic Communication

In this 24/7 news and social media environment, our strategic communication team is always on. They deliver the college’s official voice and visibility for leadership messages, major initiatives or announcements, and crisis and emergency communication, and they manage IC News, ICView magazine, social media strategy, and media relations.

Marketing Strategy

This team strives to create an audience-centered approach to marketing communications that serves the college’s short-term and long-term enrollment and advancement goals. This work is driven whenever possible by research, testing, measurement, and cycles of data-based iteration.

Creative Strategy and Development

This team works hand-in-hand with our marketing and strategic communications teams, creating communications campaigns that serve the college’s highest goals and capture the essential nature of what makes IC special. They conceive, plan, and produce creative concepts, components, standards, and campaigns in support of enrollment, advancement, and strategic initiatives. They also develop tools that colleagues across campus can use to create their own high-quality work.
