Important Information for Masters and Doctoral Graduates

Dear Graduate Students,

Please accept my personal invitation to the 2018 Ithaca College Hooding Ceremony (complete information will be forthcoming), to be held on Saturday, May 19, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Athletic and Events Center’s Glazer Arena.

Each year, we bring together our graduate program students, faculty and deans for this traditional gathering, held to recognize the accomplishment of those who have earned advanced degrees.  Dressed in academic robes, each graduating student is invited up to the center stage, to be formally invested with the hood appropriate to their subject area and level of attainment, awarded by the dean of their school and the chair of their program.  A commemorative picture is taken of each graduate in their regalia, and a reception is held after the ceremony in honor of graduates and their guests.

I very much hope that you will be able to join me at this special ceremony for graduate students, in addition to the general Ithaca College Commencement on Sunday, May 20.  This website has been created to provide all of the planning information you will need, and you are welcome to contact your Dean’s office or the Office of the Provost if you have any additional questions.

Congratulations on the completion of your graduate degree, a significant achievement well worth celebrating.  I look forward to meeting you, and your guests, friends and family members, at this year’s Hooding Ceremony and reception.

With all best wishes for your future success,

Linda Petrosino
Interim Provost and Vice President for Educational Affairs
