The Daily Health Screening helps you to self-monitor whether you have been exposed to someone with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or are experiencing any symptoms yourself prior to interacting with people outside of your own household. Based on this information, the screening provides feedback on whether you are able to access campus on a particular day or should seek further medical advice.
Daily Health Screening Notification
Students must complete the Daily Health Screening every day, regardless of whether or not you will be accessing campus on that day. Residential students should complete the screening before leaving their residential hall room or apartment. Off-campus and commuter students must complete the screening prior to departing their off campus living arrangement to access campus or the broader Ithaca community.
Students will be reminded to complete the Daily Health Screening each day via email and text message. This notification will come from the Center for Counseling, Health, and Wellness.
Faculty and staff
Faculty and staff should complete the Daily Health Screening and Testing Registration form on IC Workflow to tailor the days that you receive the screening to when you will be on campus. You can re-access this form at any time to make changes as needed. You may also opt out of the screening if you have a remote status.
Faculty and staff will be reminded to complete the Daily Health Screening on your designated days via email. This notification will come from Ithaca College Daily Health Screening.
The Daily Health Screening asks questions regarding testing positive for COVID-19, exposure to COVID-19-positive individuals, and whether any COVID-19 symptoms are present. Based on the response to these questions, individuals will receive a prompt that indicates they are cleared to access campus or are not cleared to access campus, and should consult with a medical professional. The college is not collecting or storing specific medical information as part of the screen.
The Daily Health Screening asks that all members of our college community pay close attention to their health. We recommend that individuals have a thermometer available to check their own temperature prior to accessing campus. Temperature checks will not be conducted regularly on campus.
Current symptoms associated with COVID-19 include:
- Fever (above 100.4) or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
Since these symptoms can change, we ask that all college community members also refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for the most updated information.
Medical Support - Students
If students receive a message that they are not cleared to access campus, they should follow the instructions to connect with either the Hammond Health Center at 607-274-3177 or local provider for follow-up.
Medical Support - Employees
If employees receive a message that they are not cleared to access campus based on their responses to daily screening questions, they should use the link provided in the message to schedule a telehealth appointment with a Cayuga Health System provider. Insurance information will be requested at time of scheduling, so employees should have that information readily available. Any out-of-pocket costs for the telehealth visit with Cayuga Health System will be direct billed to Ithaca College. If employees prefer, they may also follow up with their own primary care provider.
Enforcement of Daily Screening Requirements
Non-compliance with daily screening requirements is a violation of the community agreement and can be reported here. Violations by faculty or staff will be subject to disciplinary processes in accordance with the respective policies in the Ithaca College Policy Manual or collective bargaining agreement covering the individual. Violations by students, both residential and off-campus, will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Conduct Code.
