Following the arrival of President Shirley M. Collado in July 2017, the college shifted its approach to a steady and continual assessment of the campus community’s needs as it pertains to overall campus climate.
With the results of the 2016 Campus Climate Survey in hand, Collado and her senior leadership team identified four key areas in which the college could begin investing immediate attention and energy:
- Fostering a deeper, more meaningful sense of belonging among students
- Improved career opportunities for staff
- Richer mentoring for faculty
- More transparent and inclusive decision-making at the administrative level
