Preparing yourself for meeting

How faculty advisors can prepare for the advising session

  • Look at the student’s record and advising sheet (see above) to identify potential challenges

  • If your program has sequences of classes that need to be taken in order, gather advice from your chair about how to help students who have deferred or are returning from leave get into the sequence.

  • The IC Resources website is a single stop for accessing the most popular resources related to health and wellness, academic success and student engagement. It is helpful for students, their supporters and faculty.

  • Navigating Ithaca College is a single reference document specifically created for faculty to quickly locate and refer students to the correct resource.

  • The Skill-Building Library is a collection of links to documents and videos that was crowdsourced by students this summer to help each other cultivate time management and study skills as the need for them becomes evident.
