Student Work As a journalism professor, my most rewarding experiences involve student experiential learning. These ongoing collaborations give students unparalleled hands-on experience. Below is a sampling of my students' work. 50th Anniversary of MLK's Assassination A team of 12 students traveled to Memphis to report on events commemorating the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s death. U.S. Presidential Inauguration A team of 10 Ithaca students reported on the inauguration of Donald Trump for PBS NewsHour's website and social media. South Carolina Presidential Primary Our team provided content for NBC News's broadcast, digital, and social platforms. We even took over the network's Snapchat. Reporting for Ithaca Week My students produce multimedia stories and social media content for Ithaca Week, a site I manage. Multimedia Reporting from Italy During the four-week course, students serve as foreign correspondents by working with interpreters while reporting from Italy. Visual Journalism Watch video packages produced by students in my Visual Journalism course.
