Josi Petersen is a soprano vocal performance major pursuing a masters degree at Manhattan School of Music. Josi was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. In Portland, she participated in numerous community, church, and school performances and competitions. She especially enjoyed her time in the Jesuit High School productions of Les Misérables, Nunsense, and The Drowsy Chaperone, as well as her 8 years of involvement with Young People’s Theatre Project.

At Ithaca College, Josi performed with IC’s Choir, and appeared as Asphodéle and chorus in the Main Stage production of L'étoile (2014) and will appear as an off-stage voice (Louisa) in their production of Little Women in February. She looks forward to her performance as the fairy “Ragnatela” and chorus in Opera Ithaca’s production of Il Sogno. Josi participated in the International Performing Arts Institute opera division in Kiefersfelden, Germany. Josi is passionate about singing and hopes to pursue further education and a career in performance.

When she’s not singing, Josi serves as the Interim vice president for IC’s Mu Phi Epsilon. True to her Oregonian roots, Josi enjoys attending concerts and sporting events, relaxing with family and friends, hiking, biking, recycling, and being weird.
