Who is Maria DiFrancesco?

If you're still wondering, "Just who is Maria DiFrancesco?" then I'll tell you a little bit about the (non-academic) me. I strongly identify as the child of immigrants parents who settled in this country from Southern Italy. I have a passion for writing poetry. Before dedicating myself to the study of Spanish language, literature and culture, I toyed with the notion of becoming a playwright. I formally studied voice for several years and, in high school and college, acted in a number of plays and musicals.

In my spare time, I can be found doing a handful of activities. Among these is gardening. I am particularly obsessed with medicinal gardens and with permaculture gardening. I also spend a great deal of time with my family and pets.
