What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?

Being a first-generation college graduate means that I have paved my own path. Although I chose to do something different than other members in my family, their support and presence has always been a driving factor in my success. I am extremely proud and humbled to have had the opportunity to attend and graduate college.

What is your proudest moment from your time at Ithaca College?

I have many proud moments during my time at Ithaca College. I am mostly proud of the knowledge I have gained and the personal growth I have experienced during the last four years. I am also extremely proud to be graduating Ithaca College with top honors. I have devoted a lot of time and energy into my studies to ensure that I am getting the most out of my educational experience.

Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?

I would like to start by thanking the community in my home town. I would not be the person I am today if I did not receive the love and support I have from my home community. I would also like to thank my family for making this opportunity possible for me and always pushing me to be my best. I have looked up to every single one of you and always hope that I am making you proud. I would also like to thank Cody for being my absolute best friend and always standing by my side. I am extremely grateful for all that you have done for me and I don't think I could done this without the support I have gotten from you.

Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?

I am very grateful for the entire occupational therapy department. When I switched into this major my first year of college, everyone was very warm and welcoming. I have always felt that the professors have had my best interest in mind and were always willing to go out of their way to teach and mentor me. I have grown a tremendous amount in the last four years and a big reason for that is because I have had so many great role models to look up to. I could not be more grateful for all that the professors and staff in the occupational therapy department have done for myself and my future.

What do you plan or hope to do now that you have graduated?

I will be continuing my education at Ithaca College to receive my masters in occupational therapy.

Are there any Clubs, Activities, or Involvements that you were a part of at Ithaca College?

I was a member of the Ithaca College Student Occupational Therapy Association. I was also involved in Colleges Against Cancer during my first two years of college and always participated in their Relay for Life event. Although not in Ithaca, I am most proud of my involvement in the sports program in my home town. Living fairly close to IC and having breaks has allowed me to be a big part of my home community while also being able to get my education.
