Dr. Paula Ioanide is associate professor of comparative race and ethnicity studies in the Center for the Study of Culture, Race and Ethnicity. She is passionate about social justice, equity, ending mass incarceration, and creating cultures of resistance that honor people’s dignity. She teaches courses of systemic racism, gender and sexual politics, mass incarceration, and the politics of whiteness in the United States. Her book, The Emotional Politics of Racism: How Feelings Trump Facts in an Era of Colorblindness is available through Amazon. In her spare time, Dr. Paula loves to play with her young kids, cook, dance, watch spoken word poetry, and follow basketball.
