Cornell Lab of Ornithology

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology Video Showcase will uncover “what the world of birds is telling us about the health of our planet,” John Bowman, director of multimedia productions in the CLO, revealed.

The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival will present a short film showcase of multimedia from the world renowned Cornell Lab of Ornithology at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Cinemapolis.

The showcase features seven short films and several guests from the lab including Bowman, Yula Kapetanakos, Edwin Sholes, and Tom Swartwout will be in attendance.

The CLO is a global leader in ornithology, and its Macaulay Library boasts the world’s largest collection of natural sounds. Their mission is to engage and inform the public through outreach, education, and media.

Bowman said the films will encourage the audience to look beyond the beauty of nature to see how the environment has evolved in the last few years. The CLO multimedia department produces videos to urge people to become more invested in nature conservation.
