The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival from the interns' point of view

When thinking about the theme for this year’s festival, Landscapes, I immediately thought back to seeing the official FLEFF poster. This poster depicts a series of buildings, with a gorgeous lake background. The poster was what I was used to when I thought about landscapes. However, when reading the text on the poster, I was surprised how much more there was to landscapes.
The poster for the festival describes landscapes as “Material and Immaterial,” and “Built and Imagined.” The theme of landscapes fits what the artists of the festival are working towards. These films and works of art are becoming part of the landscapes themselves, being built and imagined by the artists.
Landscapes are a part of culture in every part of society, and FLEFF helps add to that by integrating it into the festival. The works that will be shown should fit the theme of this festival very well, and I am excited to see what FLEFF has to show us.
