Why Ithaca College?

Premier Facilities. Real Experience.

Ithaca College’s facilities and equipment are unrivaled by any school of its size, and class sizes are typically about 10 students. In addition, faculty members are more than teachers and mentors; they are colleagues and friends.

Students choose the college to explore career and professional opportunities, as well as to design individual programs of study to help meet their unique goals. Faculty members leverage extensive contacts with professionals in the sporting world, in clinics and hospitals, and other areas relevant to exercise physiology and sport psychology to provide students with numerous educational opportunities off campus.

Focus on Mind and Body

One of the most unique aspects of our program is the ability to integrate sport psychology and exercise physiology. Our faculty in both concentration areas collaborate often and our students regularly do projects that include aspects of psychology and physiology. It is our belief that to maximize performance—whether working with diseased patients in a hospital setting or with professional athletes—that both mind and body issues need to be addressed.

We fully expect that when students graduate from the Program in Exercise & Sport Sciences that they can address both mind and body challenges and will be on the cutting edge to provide sport psychology or exercise physiology based services.
