|Expand your world! Learn about other cultures through trips to arts festivals, musical events, and enlightening seminars.|
The Honors Program provides students with ample opportunity to engage in cultural activities. In fact, it even offers a course entitled Cultural Encounters with Ithaca College. Many honors seminars include a cultural component such as a play, musical event, or trip. The program also sponsors at least one major cultural trip each semester:
The Shaw Festival
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada
Typically, the Honors Program arranges a bus trip to see a performance on a Saturday during the fall semester. The trip includes a learning experience related to the performance. For example, students learned stage fighting one year; another year, students learned a song and dance from the play they attended. Learn more about the Shaw Festival.
New York City
Every spring semester, the Honors Program arranges a bus trip to New York City that includes a museum visit as well as attendance at a play. The student advisory board chooses from the many opportunities that are available in New York City.
