My name is Kelsey Blair. I am a graduate student in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Psychology here at Ithaca College.

I am a passionate person. Passion is one of my strengths. My passion is for health, fitness, and overall wellness but not just for me, for other people too. Ideally, I would like to open my own exercise consulting and personal training/small-group practice someday in order to help women of all backgrounds gain confidence and fight depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

I began my wellness journey at a young age, but I never did it the right way. Yes, there IS a right way to go after improved health. As you know, fad diets don’t work and falling off the exercise band-wagon is way too easy when you’ve got a busy schedule and you’re tired. I tried fad diets for about 8 years going up and down and up and down and up and down (you get the point) until I realized there was a better way, a right way, to feel better about myself.

Whatever your health and fitness goals may be, success is about achieving a state of balance and changing your perspective. It’s about trying things you’ve never tried before because when you do the same unsuccessful things over and over and over again hoping that it will finally work it fails. Health and fitness success is about seeing things in moderation, as neither good or bad, and reversing the mindset that everything falls into one of two categories: good or bad and, like or dislike. Discipline and deprivation are powerful, but together they can be destructive.

I challenge you to answer the following questions:

  1. What do you want to see change?
  2. What will you do to stay disciplined?
  3. What is it that isn’t working for you?
  4. What will you do to give up a little control?
  5. And, what will you do to be satisfied with your health decisions?

I am happy to be giving you relevant and research-based information that targets your needs. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what you wish to hear as a reader. I will always do my best to give you the information you don’t know and if I don’t know I’ll research it for you.
