The Department of Theatre Arts finds its home in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College. The Department, which has been an integral part of the College since 1897 (five years after it's founding), has roughly 360 majors and offers five degree programs and two minors.

The Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts strives to set the standard of excellence for undergraduate professional Theatre training programs.
The Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts is dedicated to developing the intellectual growth, creativity, aesthetic appreciation, professional preparedness, and character of its students by combining rigorous training with a liberal arts education. Learning in this department is a collaborative experience which embraces professional standards in the studio, in the classroom, and in the active production laboratory. The department is committed to attracting a diverse body of talented students through a highly selective, national audition/interview process. We strive to prepare students who will participate vigorously and generously in a global community that encompasses the theatre, film, television, and entertainment industries.
