Exploratory Peer Ambassadors and Leaders
How did you choose your major? If you are still Exploratory, how are you working on choosing a major and what choices are you considering?
I am still exploring, but have landed at the Park Business School. I narrowed down the schools through the five main majors I was interested in (IMC, Communications Studies, TVR, Marketing, and German). I learned what I enjoyed by getting involved on campus, which was radio for me. I have determined that many of those broad interests could be integrated the best in the business school. I hope to declare a Business Administration Major with a concentration in either Marketing or International Business and possibly minor in German.
What was your favorite resource to use when you were an Exploratory student?
I LOVED WCYDWAMY (aka DegreeWorks) because it offered different combinations of pathways I could take and let me know what credits I took go towards that major. I also loved my adviser dearly!
What do you like most about the Exploratory program?
The Exploratory program gives us a chance to turn all of those "I don't know"'s into definite "Yes"'s and "No"'s. It gives us a chance to confidently decide where we want to go without rushing into things too quickly.
What is your biggest piece of advice to other Exploratory students?
Be proud to be Exploratory! It's OK to not know what is happening, what your plans are, or what you want to major in. Be confident in your decisions; if you hesitate, it's 90% likely to be a "No."Everything will work itself out, if you put the effort in!
What extracurricular activities are you involved with on campus?
I am the Director of Public Relations for 92 WICB. I am the president of the Ithaca College Odyssey community, an online writing platform. I also was part of Project Sunshine and ICircus.
