Athletic Training Undergraduates Have Abstracts Accepted & Receive Scholarships
Senior athletic training majors, Emily Ambrose & Caleb Crowell recently had case study abstracts accepted for poster presentation at the 60th Annual Meeting of the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association January 11-14, 2008 in Valley Forge, PA. Caleb's abstract is entitled "Right Achilles tendon partial rupture in a collegiate football player: A clinical case report", while Emily submitted her abstract entitled "Multiple anterior cruciate ligament failure in a college football player and the corresponding surgical techniques of reconstruction: A case report". Additionally, Emily's abstract was selected as one of three undergraduate research finalists. Judging for this award will take place at the annual meeting with the winner being recognized at the EATA Awards Banquet on Saturday January 12, 2008. Assistant Clinical Professors Chris Hummel, MS, ATC and Todd Lazenby, MS, ATC from the Department of Exercise & Sport Sciences were the supervising clinicians and co-authors for both research projects.
Emily has also been selected as recipient of the Joseph Abraham District II Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association Scholarship Award.
Caleb has just won the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association Undergraduate Scholarship award.
