Therapeutic recreation majors and faculty represent IC proudly at the New York State Therapuetic Recreation Conference
Four therapeutic recreation majors, Jocelyn Fram, Hannah Louis, Meagan McCallister and Brittany Raphael co-presented a session entitled, "Assessing Functional Skills through the Use of Table Games" with Janice Elich Monroe, Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the NYSTRA conference.
In addition, two IC therapeutic recreation alumni presented at the conference. Debra Silver (04) did a session, "The people Watch Project: An Informal Dance Experience" and Kate Drader (07) presented on, "Snoezelen and the Multisensory Environment". In addition, IC alums Leslie Hoot (93) serves as Secretary on the NYSTRA Board of Directors, Jason Schwab (06) was elected to the board this year, Gillian Mayson (06) serves as a member of the TR Licensure Committee. A total of eight current Therapeutic Recreation Majors attended this conference.
