NOTE: Fall 2014 is the last semester students will be admitted to the recreation management degree program. The recreation management program will maintain COAPRT accreditation until all students graduate from the program.
Recreation is an important social, cultural, and economic force that influences well-being and life satisfaction. Recreation managers help improve quality of life by providing meaningful leisure opportunities, thus enhancing intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, and psychological well-being. Recreation management is grounded in administrative, leadership, and management theory, and taught experientially. Students are encouraged to combine this program with a minor—for example, in business, coaching, health, marketing, nutrition, psychology, sport studies, or sociology.
