  • Exempt staff who work will receive their regular pay.

Please refer to the FAQs for Pay Policies & Work Practices

Direct Deposit Information

Employees are strongly encouraged to enroll in direct deposit to limit disruptions in the payroll process. If you do not enroll in direct deposit, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to pick up a paper check on campus or receive one by mail in a timely manner.

Documentation on how to institute your direct deposit can be found in our IT Service Portal here: ithaca.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/34/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=706#DirDep

Hours Scheduled but Not Worked due to COVID-19 Quarantine or Isolation

Since during a period of quarantine, an employee is considered to be well, they will be expected to work remotely if their job responsibilities permit it. Individuals who work remotely while quarantined will receive regular pay for hours worked.

Employees who have provided proof of vaccination and who are placed in quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19 will continue to be able either work remotely, if their duties allow, or, if not, to subsidize their time away using the COVID-19 time type up to the two-week requirement for quarantine. Employees who choose not to be vaccinated and who do not have a valid exemption based on medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs will be required to utilize their own PTA balances if they are unable to report to work due to quarantine.  Employees who are placed in isolation, due to a positive COVID-19 test, should use COVID-19 time regardless of vaccination status.

If an individual who is quarantined develops symptoms, they should contact their physician.

Essential Employees

Ithaca College is a continuously operating residential college, and some employees must continue to work on campus to provide services that are essential to residential life, campus health and safety, critical research, the protection of physical and intellectual assets, or the continuity or resumption of academic programs and operations. Additional measures and policies to support these employees are being considered.

The Epidemic Response Plan states that the Ithaca College Core Emergency Response Team (CERT) will establish a system to rapidly identify essential personnel, operations and services relative to the college’s mission and objectives during an epidemic. CERT will:

  • Determine the essential staffing needed based upon the details of the specific epidemic emergency.
  • Determine the hours that essential personnel will be asked to work, taking into account the safety of the personnel and their families.
  • Ensure that the college implements a fair and equitable compensation system for essential personnel during the epidemic emergency period.
