ITHACA, NY — Math Fun Day — a two-hour program connecting mathematics with music, games, puzzles, and mathematical art with computers — will take place at Ithaca College on Saturday, Dec. 1. Free and open to the public, Math Fun Day will run from 10 a.m. to noon, on the third floor of Williams Hall.
“The purpose of Math Fun Day is to show elementary-aged children that math is a part of our human experience, just like music and the visual arts,” said Dani Novak, associate professor of mathematics and director of the event. “Math doesn’t have to be foreign, scary or boring.”
In addition to the group activities, young people attending the event will have an opportunity to individually explore their relationship with math during one-on-one sessions with Novak’s students.
To register for the individual sessions, visit the Math Day registration page.
No registration is required for the group activities.
