ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College has once again been included on a list of the most environmentally responsible colleges and universities in the nation. For the sixth straight year, Ithaca is featured in the “Guide to 353 Green Colleges,” published by the Princeton Review.
The education services company chose the schools for the 2015 edition of its free annual guide based on data from a survey of hundreds of four-year colleges regarding the schools’ commitments to the environment and sustainability.
The profiles in the book feature essential information for applicants — statistics on demographics, admission and financial aid, for example — as well as “green facts” about each institution. The guide cited IC’s two LEED Platinum buildings, dining hall food reclamation program and plethora of sustainability-related student organizations among its environmental credentials.
