Family Weekend Offers a Glimpse of College Life

Parents and family members of students will get a chance to sample the Ithaca College experience at this year’s Family Weekend. Set to start on Friday, November 3, and run through Sunday, November 5, Family Weekend ’00 will offer visitors a selection of concerts, sporting events, theater performances, good food, presentations, open houses, and a Saturday brunch with College president Peggy R. Williams.

Registration begins on Friday at 11:00 a.m. and continues until 8:00 p.m. in Phillips Hall. Visitors may also register on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Special events scheduled for each of the three days are listed on the Family Weekend web page.

Certain events require tickets (noted on the schedule), which may be picked up with the registration packets. Students may pick up packets for their families at the registration desk. They must present their Ithaca College ID cards to do so.

Family Weekend '99Tickets are available to Family Weekend registrants only. Seating is limited for each performance of A Little Night Music and for each concert, and requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of tickets is included in the registration fee.

In order to defray some of the costs the College incurs in offering Family Weekend, a fee is charged for each family member and guest attending. Ithaca College students, when accompanied by family members and guests, are not required to pay this fee, but they must request complimentary tickets for those events that require them.

Anyone with questions should contact the Family Weekend Information Line at (607) 274-3149, e-mail, or visit the web site.
