Staff receive Office365, a suite of applications from Microsoft that includes:

  • Outlook for email and calendar
  • OneDrive for centralized, cloud-based storage that can sync to your computer and mobile device
  • Teams, a centralized chat-based hub for teamwork that provides persistent chat capability, calling, and meetings, as well as access to other components of Office 365 and outside applications
  • Forms for online forms
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote

Technology Renewal

The Technology Renewal Program is a process through which standard IC computers and networked printers are replaced on a rotating cycle. The purpose of the program is to ensure that the majority of these devices remain up-to-date and capable of running current applications and any future upgrades or new applications anticipated during the projected life cycle of the device. It is also an important component of preventative maintenance to ensure that these computers and printers can be adequately supported. The Ithaca, LA, and London campuses are all covered under the program.

New Staff Information

In order to get started, you will need to attend a new hire information session with Human Resources. This session includes information about getting started with various accounts that pertain to your role.

Parnassus

At your new hire session you will be provided with your username and a default password for Parnassus, the Human Resources and Financial Services system. The first thing you should do is log into Parnassus and change the default password to something that only you know. Parnassus is available through the myHome IC services menu.

Netpass

Your Netpass username and password are used to access many systems and services at IC, including logging onto campus computers and accessing the Mentor file server. This account is activated using your Parnassus username and the last 6 digits of your college ID. The Human Resource office provides you with this information at the new hire session.

apps.ithaca.edu

apps.ithaca.edu is the college’s hub for providing access to web-based applications.

Mentor

Mentor is the staff and faculty file server and is accessed with the Netpass username and password.

Telephone & Voice Mail

All offices are equipped with phones that are managed by the college. Some staff members in shared spaces use a shared voice mail tree with an individual voice mail box. Learn more about using voice mail >
