IT Hiring Process

Thank you for your interest in working with IT!  Applications are currently closed, but please check back in early March 2021 for more information on how to apply for employment beginning in fall 2021.

Please check back regularly and subscribe to our email list for more information! We appreciate your flexibility and understanding throughout the hiring process. We will post all updates on this website and send announcements via email. 

The IT hiring process moves very quickly. We will communicate all hiring information through your Ithaca College email, so be sure to check it frequently. If you have any questions about the process or your scheduled interviews, please email Robyn Leary, IT Student Services Manager, at itstudentemploy@ithaca.edu.

Information Sessions

Come learn more about our job openings, what it is like to work for IT, and our hiring process! If you were unable to attend one of our info sessions live, please email itstudentemploy@ithaca.edu to request a recording.

Information sessions will be held via Zoom on the following dates and times:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Submit Application Materials

1. Apply to your first choice position online through the IC HR Recruiting Cloud

  • We currently anticipate job openings in the following positions: 

  • Please be prepared to upload a resume and cover letter that highlights your skills, work, volunteer, and extracurricular experiences
    • Please label the files as "Your Name_Resume" and "Your Name_Cover Letter"
    • Preferred file format: PDF

2. Fill out our IT online supplemental questionnaire

  • Please be prepared to list at least one professional reference
  • Ithaca College faculty and staff members are preferred but not required. You may use a non-IC professional reference if you feel they can better speak to your skills and experiences
  • Current IC students and IT @ IC student employees are not eligible to be references

Please be sure to submit your complete application materials by that time.

Interviews

First Round Interviews

  • Applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been selected for an interview 
  • If selected, please schedule your interview through our online Bookings portal
  • Interviews last approximately 30 minutes and will be held with a Student Manager or Student Coordinator Assistant via Microsoft Teams
  • First round interviews will be conducted 

Second round Interviews

  • Applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been selected for a second round interview 
    • You may be selected to interview with two full-time area supervisors, but will only be offered one position within IT
  • If selected, please schedule your interview(s) through our online Bookings portal
  • Interviews last approximately 30 minutes and will be conducted by our full-time IT Area Supervisors via Microsoft Teams
  • Second round interviews will be conducted 

Hiring Decisions

  • We will contact all references
    • Please use an IC faculty or staff member if possible, or a previous employer or mentor
    • It is best practice to ask the person if they are willing to serve as a reference before listing them on your application
    • Current IC students and IT @ IC student employees are not eligible to be references
  • Will notify students application status 

Training

  • Hired applicants are required to attend mandatory training prior to the start of the semester. Training dates are subject to change, but typically training begins the Wednesday before the semester begins in August, and the Wednesday before the semester begins in January

NSEP Sessions

  • Sign up for an NSEP session if you have not had a job on campus before.
  • You can only attend an NSEP session once you are offered a job.
  • You must attend an NSEP session prior to IT New Hire training.

• If possible, we recommend you make your call from a private/quiet room and test your device's audio, video, and internet connection in advance

• We recommend you use the "Blur my Background" feature

• If you have technical issues, please attempt to conduct the interview over the phone as a last resort
