The IT Student Communications Team works collaboratively to develop and implement a communication strategy for IT through printed and digital platforms. The group is comprised of two student roles, Communications Media Specialist and Communications Social Media Specialist, who work with two full-time supervisors. The team is responsible for promoting IT services, events, and information to Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff.

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 6 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-9:30 PM and Friday 7:30 AM-5 PM
  • Spring 2020 Pay Rate: $11.80/hour
  • Supervisors: Jenna Linskens and Robyn Leary
  • Location: Job Hall

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Fluency with all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram 

  • Creativity and the ability to brainstorm new ideas   

  • Knowledge of basic design principles for social media content 

  • Willingness to learn new software programs 

  • Strong attention to detail  

  • Excellent organizational skills  

  • Ability to work on a team  

  • Ability to develop/execute campaigns for different target audiences 

  • Experience with Canva and Hootsuite preferred but not required
