Instructional Media Lab - Job 102

Faculty can use the Podcast Room to record audio files which can be embedded into Sakai learning modules. 

The Instructional Media Lab (IML), located in Job Hall 102, is one-stop-shop for media production services and support for the core instructional technology tools. Lab staff are dedicated to supporting Ithaca College faculty for academic purposes.  

Staffed: Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM and Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM by student specialists in media production and learning technologies. 

A reservable podcast area with recording technology, lighting, soundproofing, software, a variety of content creation tools, and web conferencing software. Our staff members are available to help faculty with their media production needs with the added value of an attached studio.  

Here are some of the services we offer: 

  • Support with core instructional tools (Sakai, iRubric, TurnItIn, media.ithaca.edu, Top Hat, Taskstream, Voicethread and more) 

  • Poster printing and design (printed at the Print Center, but designed by us) 

  • Basic video & audio production 

  • Podcasting/Vodcasting 

  • Media encoding & format conversion (VHS, DVD & Digital formats) 

  • Media duplication (DVD, CD, Blu-Ray) 

  • Augmented and Virtual Reality simulations and trainings
