Dear Campus Community,

As we previously announced, Hierald Osorto, Executive Director for Student Equity and Belonging, ended his time at Ithaca College on November 8 to follow his calling to become the senior pastor of St. Paul/San Pablo Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am pleased to share that two colleagues will be promoted to interim roles to continue the great work that Hierald has begun during his tenure at Ithaca College.

Luca Maurer will be serving as the Interim Executive Director for Student Equity and Belonging for the remainder of the academic year. This role will report directly to me and will be part of my Executive Leadership Team.  In this role, he will directly supervise the Center for IDEAS and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life in addition to continuing to lead the Center for LGBTQ Education, Outreach and Services.  Luca will support equity and diversity initiatives by co-chairing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action group with Judith Pena-Schaff, as well as serving as the NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Designee.  Luca will also lead an upcoming campus climate survey process and coordinate a current campus climate initiative addressing antisemitism.

Lauren Goldberg, current Executive Director for Hillel at Ithaca College, will serve as the part-time Interim Director of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life until May 22, 2022. She will report to the Luca in his role as Interim Executive Director for Student Equity and Belonging.  Lauren will serve as the primary contact for the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life to triage questions, manage student referrals, manage the religious accommodation process, serve as a liaison with ORSL partner affiliates and student organizations, and respond to campus emergencies.

I am so grateful that these dedicated colleagues have agreed to step into these important leadership roles and know that they will continue to provide excellent service to our students and to our campus.  Please join me in thanking them for their tireless commitment to our students.

Sincerely,

Rosanna Ferro, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Life
