Vote now! Ithaca Alum in Running for Next Great Filmmaker Award!

Rebecca van der Meulen (IC Cinema & Photography ‘20) has been nominated for the Berkshire International Film Festival’s Next Great Filmmaker Award for her award winning film ‘To Wade or Row’! The recipient of Ithaca College’s David Ames Film Award in 2020, her incredibly timely 15-min short looks at the possible future of reproductive healthcare in America as abortion providers will be forced to move back underground if  Roe v Wade is reversed. 

With a selection of five short films from the Berkshire International Film Festival’s 2022 lineup, the Next Great Filmmaker Award will be given to the director who’s film receives the most votes from the public on their website (https://biffma.org/filmmakers/nextgreat/) by May 31st.  As a bone, each voter will also be entered to win a $300 Amazon gift card! On June 1st the winning filmmaker will be announced at the festival’s opening night gala and receive a cash prize of $2500.

After voting your information will be added to the drawing for the $300 gift card.
