18th annual Ithaca Seminars lineup announced

By Andrew Utterson, May 23, 2022

Connecting people and ideas, and spanning every corner of Ithaca College, the fall 2022 Ithaca Seminars lineup will feature approximately 50 faculty members – representing 4 Schools and approximately 20 Departments – exploring a range of dynamic topics with our first-year students. These interdisciplinary seminars showcase the breadth of expertise of IC’s faculty and their collective committment to first-year student success.

Now in their 18th annual offering at Ithaca College, and a key part of the ICC (Integrative Core Curriculum), this foundational all-College program of dedicated first-year seminars welcomes each and every IC student to the aspirations of an Ithaca College education, with an emphasis on a liberal education sensitive to the wider professional contexts of a comprehensive college.

Brand new topics for 2022 include:

  • Science in the Media
  • Mindfulness Across the Lifespan
  • Benjamin Franklin and the American Dream: An Inquiry into Our Founding Values
  • Contemporary American Controversies
  • Inclusion 101: It’s a Process, Not a Place
  • Illuminati (Not) Confirmed: Exploring the World of Conspiracy Theories
  • Learning to Take a Long View of Life
  • We’ll Never Be Silent Again: Health Activism From the Aids Crisis to COVID 19
