Early Arrival Forms for Fall Term are available in IC Workflow.

Departments and offices who expect students to arrive early MUST complete the Early Arrival Fall Faculty Staff form in IC Workflow to ensure their students can arrive early without disruption.

In an effort to ensure that the Office of Residential Life is able to provide full support to each and every student, we ask that all students, offices, and departments match move-in expectations and needs within the structure of the dates listed below.

Fall Move-In Dates

Official move-in hours will take place between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on the below dates:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 9 | Essential Student Employees (OLs, Dining, IT, Mail Services, SASP, SHELs)
  • Sunday, Aug. 14 | Early Arrivals – Day 1 (student employees, Jump Start, student-athletes & students with extenuating circumstances)
  • Monday, Aug. 15 | Early Arrivals – Day 2 (students with extenuating circumstances)
  • Tuesday, Aug. 16 | Move-In for First Year Students
  • Friday, Aug. 19 | Move-In for Transfer and Returning Upper Year Students – Day 1
  • Saturday, Aug. 20 | Move-In for Returning Upper Year Students – Day 2

Do not make travel arrangements until you have received a response for your Early Arrival request, as your request/s may not be able to be granted.

Please note that these dates were intentionally selected with a variety of internal and external factors in mind. Internally, taking into account the staffing resources in offices that support essential college operations, student-athlete preseason, and critical pre-semester programs such as orientation and Jump Start. Externally, also coinciding with Ithaca College’s wider efforts to be a collaborative community partner to limit traffic and other stresses on resources in our South Hill and greater Ithaca communities.

In addition, only Residential Life staff members and summer students transitioning from summer to fall housing assignments are approved to check in earlier than the published early arrival period.  No other exceptions can be made, as the buildings will be in the process of being turned over after summer conference use and due to limited staffing. Submissions can be made for alternate dates due to special circumstances (ie. extreme situations); however, those requests are not a guarantee for approval and can be denied. For more information on Early Arrivals, please refer to the information in the Early Arrivals webpage.

We deeply appreciate your cooperation in the Early Arrival Process, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email reslife@ithaca.edu.

Sincerely,

Office of Residential Life
