Susan Bassett ’79, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation and Associate Vice President, has announced two administrative staff promotions. Erienne Roberts has been promoted from Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator to Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Sean Fitzmaurice ’04 has been promoted from Assistant Director of Athletics to Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations. The promotions were effective June 1, 2022.

“It is with great pleasure and confidence that I announce the promotions of two exceptional administrators who each have earned the opportunity to assume more leadership responsibility within the athletics department. It is exciting to continue to restructure our leadership team to leverage the many talents our staff possesses in the goal of continuous improvement of student experience,” said Bassett.

Erienne Roberts’ expanded leadership role will include serving as a strategist and senior advisor to the Director, primary oversight of day-to-day internal operations of the athletics department, serve as the NCAA Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee, enhance coaching staff professional development along with her current responsibilities in NCAA Compliance, Title IX support, and increased sport administration.

Bassett stated, “Erienne Roberts has demonstrated superb effectiveness in her multi-faceted role leading NCAA Compliance, student-athlete programming, sport administration as well as general operational matters within the athletics department. During Erienne’s four years at IC, she has proven herself as a talented athletics administrator who has contributed broadly to the department’s success. Erienne has connected well with Bomber student-athletes and brought creative leadership to student development programs. I look forward to our continued work together on behalf of the Bombers.”

Sean Fitzmaurice will add sport administration to his portfolio of managing our events, facilities, and operations. Initially, he will work with baseball and wrestling, with an advisory role with football.  Fitzmaurice oversees intercollegiate facilities, scheduling, event management and operations.  Additionally, he executes the procurement process and manages the athletics inventory.

“Sean Fitzmaurice is the ‘go-to’ person in our athletics department. He has a broad knowledge of every sport we sponsor, and his commitment is unsurpassed. Fitz’s capacity for work is unparalleled. I have enjoyed seeing his growth as a leader and administrator in our department. If anyone bleeds Bomber Blue, it is this man. I am excited to see his contributions expand over the coming years,” said Bassett.
