Winter and Spring 2023 Course Registration

The Winter and Spring 2023 course schedule will be available for view on HomerConnect and Degree Works beginning Monday, October 17th by noon. For additional information on the winter schedule, visit the Winter Session website

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022 after 12pm students will be able to view their Registration Status (aka Time Ticket) on HomerConnect. Registration Status lets students know what day and time they can begin to register for classes. To ensure the most accurate time ticket, students should do the following prior to October 19, 2022: 

  • confirm all transfer credits have been awarded  
  • complete any change of majors/minors/concentrations via IC workflow  
  • verify your Block I grades have been recorded (completed Block 1 courses will count as earned credits, grades of NGS or Incomplete will not count) 

Reminders

  • Registration status/Time Ticket assignment is based on credits earned, in progress fall credits ARE NOT considered for the purposes of Time Ticket assignment.  
  • To check your credits earned; on your Student Profile page in HomerConnect, view Overall Hours.  
  • DegreeWorks includes the classes you are currently taking in credits applied, this is NOT what time ticketing is based on. 

Use your HomerConnect Profile page, upper right corner, to find your time ticket: click on Registration Notices. You can also check holds here. Not all holds block registration, please be sure to look at Processes Affected

Once spring registration begins, Prerequisite Checking and Course Restrictions WILL include review of your in-progress fall courses. 

The IC Workflow overrides system opens with your time ticket (not before). You cannot submit an override until your time ticket opens. 

Registration Dates & Times

  • Monday, October 31: Winter Registration ONLY (No RAC needed)

    • 9:00 am: All Students 

  • Tuesday, November 1:

    • 7:30 am: Special Populations and UG Students with 90+ Earned Credit Hours  

  • Wednesday, November 2:

    • 7:30 am: Graduate Students (excluding Physical Therapy/DPT) 

  • Thursday, November 3:

    • 7:30 am: UG Students with 60 - 89.9 Earned Credit Hours  

  • Tuesday, November 8:

    • 7:30 am: UG Students with 30 - 59.9 Earned Credit Hours  

  • Thursday, November 10:

    • 7:30 am: UG Students with under 30 Earned Credit Hours  

  • Wednesday, November 30:

    • 8:00 am: Graduate Physical Therapy students 

The Registrar's Office will open at 7:30am for the above dates. 

What errors could you experience when registering?

Errors when registering for classes are often preventable or you can prepare for them.  Here are some errors and how you can approach them.

Course is Full:

  • Add yourself to the Waitlist
  • If there is no Waitlist on the course, keep watch on the course for openings
    • Remember: if this is one of your last semesters and you need this exact course, contact your faculty advisor immediately if you are unable to get in to determine next steps

You Do Not Meet a Prerequisite or Restriction:

  • Use the override request form in IC Workflow
    • Remember: you are not guaranteed to get approval for the override request

You Have a Time Conflict:

The Course has a Linked Section:

  • Remember to register for the Linked Section at the same time as the Lecture.  You need to register for them at the same time.
