The Rachel S. Thaler Concert Pianist Series – The School of MTD's longest-running endowed concert series, bringing free concerts of world-class talent to the Ithaca community since 1991 – welcomes an exciting young artist to the Whalen Center for Music.

Award-winning pianist Eric Lu will perform a program of Chopin, Mozart, and Schubert (including Piano Sonata in A Major, D. 959) on Tuesday, January 31 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Lu will also give a masterclass the previous evening, on Monday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m., also in Hockett Family Recital Hall.

“Leeds winner Eric Lu showed an astonishing command of keyboard tone and color...the sign he is already a true artist. It was a spellbinding experience.” – The Guardian

“His playing is in a rare class...This type of sensitivity and emotional intuition does not grow on trees” – BBC Music Magazine
