FLEFF 2023: Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

By Patricia Zimmermann, March 28, 2023

This roundtable asks how artificial intelligence has disturbed our worlds. It ponders how do we think about the resets, rethinkings, and rewirings it unleashes? What is it? How does it work? What are the implications for life as we used to live it?

Artificial Intelligence (AI )is ubiquitous: advanced search engines, recommendation systems on Netflix, Siri, Alexa, facial recognition, search algorithms, drones, self-driving cars, smart traffic lights, Chat GPT ,Dall-E, NightCafe, Dream Studio, ArtBreeder and more.

AI is met with equal parts optimism and despair. AI might make some work easier, but it might/will eliminate jobs. AI might propel floods of plagiarism on campuses, but it might present new meta-thinking.
