By Jenna Linskens, April 4, 2023

Join Information Technology (IT) and Student Governance Council (SGC) members for an engaging conversation about ChatGPT, other AI writing and creative tools, and their potential to enhance the learning experience.

  • Date: Thursday, April 6
  • Location: Klingenstein Lounge, Campus Center
  • Time: 12:10 PM - 1:00 PM

ChatGPT is a cutting-edge AI program that comprehends and responds to human language in a manner similar to a person. AI writing and creative tools can accomplish a wide array of tasks, such as answering questions, crafting stories and articles, and generating research, images, audio, and video in a human-like fashion.

As AI technology advances, it's crucial to understand the responsible, ethical, and appropriate use of these tools, as well as their limitations. Our learning community aims to foster discussions about the potential benefits and concerns of AI tools and how to cultivate AI Literacy, ensuring our students' future success.

In this open session, we will offer an overview of ChatGPT, highlighting the opportunities and challenges it presents. Student participation in the discussion is highly encouraged.

This discussion, although tailored for students, welcomes all members of the Ithaca College community. No registration is necessary.
