In 2022, the New York State Attorney General negotiated Opioid Settlement payments for New York State and its counties. Payments to the counties consist of both one-time payments and recurring payments for several years. In response to these payments, the Tompkins County Legislature appointed an Opioid Task Force in October 2022 to help ensure the funds are allocated for approved uses and strategies per settlement stipulations.

Over recent months, the Opioid Task Force has met regularly and invited local treatment and advocacy agencies to present on the gaps and needs that exist in working with individuals with Substance Use and Opioid Use Disorders in our county.

To further reach the community and better understand the opioid crisis from numerous perspectives, the Opioid Task Force has developed a short survey that they would like to invite you to complete: Survey Link

Responses from individuals with lived experience is especially appreciated. Your participation is completely voluntary, but greatly appreciated. Responses will be accepted until end of day on Monday, May 29th, 2023.
