History Prof publishes on Writing During Covid

Writing a book (on death, no less) during Covid had its challenges...

In the wake of publishing my book on the history of capital punishment in the South, I was reflecting on the process, and wrote a short piece for the American Historical Association's Perspectives Daily on what it was like to be writing about death during Covid.  This book's publication has resulted in a several interviews; if anyone wants to know a little something  more on the project, here is: a teaser for an interview with the "Tattooed Historian," (2 min), and another short piece written for The Edge on racism in the history of capital punishment more generally.
