You Can Help

Help us in our goal to get the Ithaca College community certified to talk about mental health, suicide prevention and resources! Our goal, supported by the JED Foundation, is to train as many Ithaca College community members in You Can Help, an evidence-based curriculum designed by the JED Foundation to provide information and skills to support people in mental health distress safely and effectively.

  • Staff Session (You Can Help a Student): Thursday December 5th, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm in the Cayuga Lake room, Campus Center.

Session Learning Objectives:

  • Understand current college student mental health trends
  • Understand your role in supporting students/friends/peers
  • Identify signs of distress in students/friends/peers and learn how to engage in conversation with that individual
  • Discuss on and off-campus resources available

Participants will receive an exclusive postcard and sticker that can be displayed in their space to signify them as a resource as well as a nifty certificate of completion, and a copy of the presentation slides.
